HYDROSTATIC  AND  PRESSURE  TESTING

Hydrostatic testing is used for leak detection as well as a means to determine wether a vessel has the ability to to withstand the internal pressure of the design specifications. Castle Welding & Inspection has the ability to test a load as high as 12000 psi with water.

    MACROETCH  TESTING

Macroetch testing is often used to determine the amount of penetration in a welded joint. It is achieved by polishing a cross section of the weld joint that is to be tested, and using an acid solution to etch the polished surface,  making the macrostructure and heat affected zone visable to the eye. The effective throut of the  fillet weld can now be measured.
